A strong identity can become iconic. A solid asset to the visible personality of an entity, product, service or organization. Some identities such as the Rolling Stones tongue have remained in use since their inception. They provide an immediate sense of recognition. They’re identities that have remained in place long after their creation. Another direction, as is the case with U2 and many of the examples show here, is to create a new visual identity to suit a particular album campaign or related product.
Another aspect of creating identities are sub-brands. A sub-brand conforms to existing guidelines, yet has it’s own individual personality is a skill that comes with the creative understanding of the parent brand that enhances the parent identity system. Other identities shown here are part of a tailored branding solution that was a part of a larger project, while others were created as part of prospective pitch situation but are shown here to illustrate the team’s creative vision.
